Q
- What kind of service do you provide?
A - We provide environmentally responsible pest
control service
using a natural material inside your home. We inject the
material in the cracks and crevices to be inaccessible to
children and pets, making it completely safe. Our service
is more effective than spraying the baseboards because we
target the insects where they hide. The outside service is
the most important part. We treat your yard using baits
and other environmentally responsible materials to create
barriers. We treat pests where they live and breed. We do
not hose down the yard causing unnecessary chemicals
around your property. We also guarantee our service with
no charge if a follow up visit is needed within a 30 day
period.
Q - What is diatomaceous earth?
A - One cell plants called diatoms exist in oceans
and lakes. The diatom feels like talcum powder to us but
feels sharp and scratches the insects' waxy cuticle,
causing them to dehydrate and die.
Q - How much do you charge?
A - Price is determined by pest problems, square
footage, yard size, and frequency of service. Call the
office for quotes. Our prices are competitive and no
contracts are necessary.
Q - What can be done about Scorpions?
A - You can have your home sealed, to minimize the
entry points where they enter. You can cut the vegetation
off the ground, away from the house and block wall. This
minimizes harborage areas, and allows for better
treatment. Minimize landscape that will attract them, such
as river rock, railroad ties, vines on the house, and palm
trees. Eliminate their food source (other bugs) with
regular pest control.
Q - What happens if you are stung by a scorpion?
A - Call Poison Control. They can advise you.
Arizona has not had a death from a scorpion sting in over
20 years. Typically, the affected area becomes numb for
several days, with discomfort and fever or nausea.
Q - What can be done about pantry pests?
A - Pantry pests such as moths, weevils, carpet
beetles, red flour beetles and many others show up in dry
stored foods. You need to go through all stored food and
throw out infested products, such as rice, flour, dog
food, spaghetti, cereal, and bird food. Pour it into a
bowl and inspect it carefully. Tupperware is a way to
prevent future spreading of an infestation. Wipe out the
cupboards with soap and water removing any pest evidence.
Q - What can you tell me about termites?
A - Termites live in the ground. They can come up
through cracks and crevices around your home, travelling
in mud tubes made from dirt and water, and damaging the
wood as they go. If your home is less than five years old,
you are under warrantee for free retreatments from the
company that did your pretreatment. Ask your builder if
you don't know. If you do not have a warrantee, we
recommend Uni-Tech for termite control. Termites swarm
during the humid season. They fly around ending up in the
pool, inside the house, dropping wings everywhere. Your
pretreatment is meant to protect your home from termite
invasions.
Q - What can be done about American "sewer"
roaches?
A - Recommend pouring 1/2 cup of bleach in each
drain and running some water to prevent chrome damage.
Keep the stopper closed. If you are on city sewage, they
can call the city to treat the manhole cover. If you have
a septic tank, we can treat it.
Q - Can you treat the firewood?
A - We can use a flushing agent to chase out and
kill the pests, yet is safe to burn because it is
nonresidual.
Q - What can you do about Palo Verde beetles?
A - They make big holes in the ground, because the
eggs in the ground have developed into beetles and they
dig their way out. In the larva stage, they sometimes feed
on the roots, and damage trees. We treat to stop them when
they come out. However, when they are in the ground, they
are untreatable.
Q - What can you do about ticks and fleas?
A - We can treat. To prepare you must vacuum
thoroughly around baseboards and where the dog or cat hang
out. Throw out the vacuum bag and clear base boards to be
as accessible as possible for treatment. The pets need to
be tick and flea free. Remove excess debris from yard and
cut lawn to two inches or less. We treat where pets hang
out, inside and out, under the couch and between cushions,
cracks, baseboards, high and low. At the two week mark if
more ticks or fleas hatch, call for additional service.
